Loctite 243 est un adhésif frein-filet de résistance moyenne conçu pour sécuriser et étanchéifier les boulons, vis et écrous, afin d'aider à éviter le desserrage provoqué par les vibrations. Il est destiné à un usage général sur les filetages métalliques.
Il fonctionne sur différents métaux, notamment l'acier inoxydable, l'aluminium et les surfaces revêtues, et tolère une légère contamination par des huiles industrielles. Sa résistance moyenne assure un blocage fiable pour les opérations de montage et d'entretien.
